Learn more about them in this brand spotlight: Hancock and Moore.

Hancock and Moore creates unique pieces for their customers, allowing them to customize their furniture and have a choice in every element of the design. They have spent the past 30 years creating furniture exactly as their customers imagined, each piece personal to the person who designed it.

Hancock and Moore create high-quality seating, using leather and other fabrics to create pieces that stand out from others on the market. They offer a range of customization services to leather and fabric, which help create their unique pieces, making them truly one-of-a-kind. We’re going to tell you more about Hancock and Moore and talk you through some of the techniques used to make their furniture so special.

Branding

Hancock and Moore use a traditional Western method to incorporate branding into people’s designs. The branding is created at a blacksmith’s shop in Southwest Texas, heating the brands over an open flame and then applying it to the leather. The leather is then sealed. They also offer further customization here as customers can use their own brand to personalize their furniture.

Hand Painting

Hand painting is a really unique way to customize your furniture. This customization service is available for their leather furniture and the paintings are completed by Hancock and Moore’s professional team of artists. They begin by buffing the leather before painting on the chosen design by hand. The leather is then treated to ensure the painting is protected and will last. Hand painting can be done on any part of the furniture, making each design personalized to its owner. Likewise, with the branding, the team is able to create custom designs for those looking to create a completely individual piece.

Embroidery

Embroidery is used to incorporate logos and design on to most of the Hancock and Moore leathers. The design is created digitally and then stitched on to the leather, creating a distinctive piece for the customer.

Hand Lacing

An important part of a brand spotlight on Hancock and Moore is to include their team of artisans who work on the hand lacing of their furniture. This creates a handcrafted decorative trim for the chosen leather or fabric. There are a variety of options available for the types of lacing, giving a different finish on each product.

Bullion Fringe

Originally, bullion fringe was used for plain or crepe cords. However, Hancock and Moore have taken this idea and applied it to leather. Bullion fringe gives a frayed look to furniture, by creating a fringe-like decorative trim.
